Microsoft Corporation Software Engineer II in Redmond, Washington

Microsoft Security Response Center (MSRC) is looking for a talented Senior Software Development Engineer to join its engineering team. This is a unique opportunity to join a growing team and build the foundational services that power the leading security response team of the world. TEAM MSRC consists of highly motivated, innovative, security-minded software engineers and security leaders responsible for responding to security issues across Microsoft products, including the Azure platform. The engineering team is the delivery team enabling MSRC to interact with external security researchers, security industry partners and Microsoft customers working to secure their systems. We are currently redesigning our engineering systems from the ground up to deliver Azure-based automation and information management in order to enable effective security response and management of security vulnerabilities and smooth data sharing across the security ecosystem. Our team works in an agile start-up like environment where each team member is empowered to think creatively to contribute and collaborate towards the mission of MSRC in a fast-paced, sprint-driven rhythm.

Responsibilities

We are looking for a passionate and motivated senior developer to be the technical leader in design and implementation of the core APIs and backend services that form the backbone of MSRC’s engineering system. You will evaluate the current implementation of our services against new requirements and vision, build and deliver new services. You will be working collaboratively within the team, provide technical oversight and leadership to the entire team, work through competing priorities, and solve complex technical challenges.

Qualifications

Required Skills:

  • BS in Computer Science or equivalent

  • 3+ years experience in software engineering

  • Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Preferred Skills:

  • Passion for driving code quality, service health and mature software engineering practices

  • Excellent track record and portfolio of complex web and cloud services

  • Deep expertise on API design Deep knowledge of C#, Web Services, ASP.NET and SQL

  • Experience with distributed programming models Experience in Azure development

  • Experience with Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment systems and paradigms.

  • Experience with Content Management Systems is a plus

  • Ability to work well in a dynamic, agile and transparent environment.
