Microsoft Corporation Principal Program Manager Lead in Redmond, Washington
Microsoft Edge is the most popular Microsoft application on Windows 10, both by Monthly Active Devices (MAD) and Total User Minutes (TUM). Over 88 billion websites are loaded in Edge each month, during 115+ billion user minutes, across 350+million active devices.
What you may not know is Edge represents one of the largest revenue growth opportunities for the company. We’re making a strategic investment to grow Edge share, increase search revenue, drive Microsoft service usage, and generally delight users. While we make Edge awesome, we also have the opportunity to make sure that the Edge platform lights up in all of our app platforms and gives app developers access to a first-class web runtime without having to resort to competitive frameworks like Electron which reduce the security and performance on Windows devices.
The Web Apps and Frameworks team builds the technology that allows the Edge platform to be hosted in UWP, .NET, WPF and Win32 which many big partners inside and outside the company rely on. The team leads the charge for the Progressive Web Apps effort which allows web developers to build fully-featured app experiences that span across Edge and Microsoft Store-delivered apps. The team is also very active with the web developer ecosystem, building some of the most popular frameworks in open source, representing Edge in the community, or building out resources for web devs such as aka.ms/msedgedev.
Look through our blog (https://blogs.windows.com/msedgedev/) to see what the team has been doing. If you’re read this far and are excited, then what are you waiting for – go ahead and apply!
